When I do a big art dump like this, and type in what I used for the various drawings.

.7 Mechanical Pencil or HB Pencil

Whenever I see other artists write down what they use (or show it in a tutorial, etc), they have this massive array of charcoal pencils, soft shading pencils, hard shading, outlining, sketching, kneading erasers, soft erasers, etc. etc. They have a variety of things for a variety of purposes. I'm lazy and just settle for the cheap things you buy 12 of for $2 down at Wal-Mart.

Also, I've started watching the show Being Human on BBC3. Fantastic show, no one seems to have heard of it here, I guess I'm a hipster (Nooooooooo), and yes, it involves vampires and werewolves and ghosts. However, it isn't corny and whatnot like Twilight and similar things (Red Riding Hood) has started to make the genre.

Also, I'm working on a new piece of art, but I can't really say what it is because I plan to enter it in a contest. Which is anonymous. So expect to see it in a month or so, along with another time-lapse video.

PS: Brazil is too good at volleyball
PPS: We are good at Eights Rowing
PPPS: Did you hear about the 23-25 match that Milos did? New world record for longest Olympic tennis match.

Seriously, Feel-See-and-CREATE and ArtSpeaksToTheWorld both just asked for my Get Those Stars (herzinththedark.deviantart.com…) work to be added to their galleries.

I'm flattered and all, but I can't see why. I'm kind of, well, a tiny blip here on DA, with my 15 watchers and no deviation with more than 5 favs.

But yes, very flattered.

Oh, and school is out for the summer, and I still have like, 20+ things from Art class I need to scan and bore everyone with.

So much...

Too much art. I recently brought home alot of the stuff I did in Art Foundations, so lots of art to upload, along with recent graphic design stuff I did for my school.

Conundrum(s)

1 min read
First: How does one spell conumdrum? Is it conundrum, or conondrum?
Second: The better my art gets, the more I realize that it's not as good as I used to convince myself it was. Which I think is more and more exposure to other peoples art. Which would be fine, because I am getting better, but my skill increase is a straight line graph, while my bitter taste of reality is an exponential graph.
AKA it is quickly outpacing my skill.
Oh well. The only cure is to get better. Or stop looking at peoples art (but I love looking at their art so much)
(but skill takes so loooong)
Third: Why are all my Journals so negative all the time? Probably because my life is a constant array of small good things, with the sporadic large(r) bad thing. So don't worry, the good outweighs the bad, no matter what my Journals may imply.
(I should add that to the end of all my journals, like a disclaimer)

Woow

it just struck me how bad the school macs are in terms of screen resolution and colours and such. For example, most computers I go on, I can see the various shades of grey and black on one of my works (in my scrapbook =P). On the Mac it turns into a flat black color. And this happens all over the place, things look darker and shading is flattened down on these Macs.

I guess from now on I should bring everything I make on these computers home first before uploading them.

Also, these Mac's? They're the ones in the Graphic Arts room, the ones devoted to digital art students. And they can't even show the colors properly? Nice.
